It is the mission of the W. Ross Macdonald School to provide an alternative educational placement for blind, low vision and Deafblind students in an environment which teaches independent learning, living skills, and self-sufficiency, actively promotes student self-confidence and participation, and ensures student safety. We strive to create a unique learning environment which fosters academic and social involvement, a sense of belonging rather than difference.
Complimentary to these programs, our resource services provide direct support to preschool age blind and deafblind children and their families and assists local school boards to meet the needs of blind, low vision, and Deafblind and school age youth living in their home communities.
